The N.S. Weaver Restoration House & Outreach Mission ("NSW") is a virtual human service resource agency supporting the Southeast Region, specifically the Central Florida and Atlanta Georgia Metro Areas. The goal is to establish two buildings for housing through sponsorship and donation funding. The transitional housing facilities will be located in the Central Florida and Atlanta Metro Areas. The intended goal is to have these housing facilities secured mid to late 2024.  The current goal of NSW is to make best efforts to direct those in need of assistance to known homeless support facilities in the central Florida and Atlanta Georgia Metro Area.

 

The purpose of The N.S. Weaver Restoration House & Outreach Mission is to empower those disadvantaged, homeless single mothers, women, children, and others to be independent, productive members of society. We accomplish this through a recovery process that is inclusive of; financial training, education, counseling, life coping skills, and employment.

 

Our programs include case management and referral services to help residents find needed resources beyond those that we provide. The philosophy of The N.S. Weaver Restoration House & Outreach Mission is to reach out with love and support in a caring manner to our residents, with a commitment to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the whole person or family.

 

History

 

NSW was founded in September 2009, as a private company based in Longwood, Florida.  NSW assisted individuals and couples with financial literacy training and life coping skills.  Our founder and accredited Senior Financial Life Coach is Dr. Sheila Dixon.  Due to her community involvement, she came face-to-face with the monumental societal problem called homelessness.                                                                 

Having confronted some of the same hardships that others were now facing and with great desire as well as passion, Dr. Dixon found herself in a unique position to assist those having similar life challenges.  Through her desire and determination to make a difference, The N.S. Weaver Restoration House & Outreach Mission was born. As the vision grew, NSW evolved into a 501(c) 3 non-profit homeless shelter and outreach mission.  Our quest to improve the quality of living for those impoverished or disadvantaged is built upon supportive quality programs that we offer.  They include financial literacy, mentoring, counseling, physical fitness, nutrition, and other comprehensive programs. We continue to refine, expand, and add programs as we grow and become more sophisticated in learning the needs of those we serve.

 

Those in need of basic necessities and who desire assistance in paving a path to living a quality, fulfilling life will find shelter at NSW!  We are passionate about our vision and mission and committed to delivering the highest level of service and accountability, with the end result being the empowerment of those lives we have the honor to serve.
